Post-Match Verdict: "This Will Do The Dressing Room No End Of Good!" - Warne

Derby County Head Coach Paul Warne was delighted to get three points on the board in Sky Bet League One in their 3-0 victory at Burton Albion.

The Rams landed all three points in impressive fashion on the road thanks to goals from James Collins, Conor Hourihane and Conor Washington.

Speaking to RamsTV after the final whistle, the Head Coach gave his verdict on the day's work as the side bounced back from the 2-1 opening day loss on home turf against Wigan Athletic a week ago in the perfect manner.

On the victory...

I thought the lads did OK. We created enough chances to win. I didn't think it was perfect but it was never going to be with the ever-changing weather and I thought we took a few too many risks along the backline. Once we got a grip of the game and scored that second goal, the lads can be virtually unplayable when they were full of confidence. I'm well aware the game could have taken a different turn first half though.

On what pleased him the most...

This isn't an easy place to come. I don't think I've ever won here in my career so the most pleasing thing for me was the chances we created. We created enough chances to win and didn't really concede that many.

On the set-play goal from James Collins...

It pleased me but in a weird way it kind of killed us because we started really brightly and when we scored they came at us a bit more. In games like this when it's really random, if you give away numerous corners and throw-ins something may drop but fortunately we defended well enough. I thought James Collins was brilliant today and overall I was really pleased with him.

On Conor Hourihane's second goal...

His feet are a joke! Conor, if you lay it off properly, never misses really. His finishing is really good and I did fancy him for a goal today. The second and third goal were both unselfish too so I look forward to watching them back. Really pleased for him to get a goal and then Conor Washington too.

On Conor Washington getting off the mark...

I've waxed lyrical about him and how hard he works but he's a goalscorer as well. He brings more than just goals but as does Collo in fairness.

On being back at Pride Park on Tuesday evening to face Oxford...

I'm really pleased with today in fairness and don't want to get too far ahead of myself. I like to thank the fans that came and stayed with the lads even though we weren't great at times in the first-half. The lads that came off the bench had a positive impact and it was nice to be able to make those changes. It is a good day that ends a disappointing week and it will do the dressing room no end of good.
