Derby County goalkeeper Joe Wildsmith believes it was a case of two points dropped rather than one gained following the 0-0 draw with Cambridge United in Sky Bet League One on Saturday.

Derby had plenty of possession and opportunities to win in the stalemate at Pride Park Stadium with the U's but were unable to find a breakthrough.

Speaking to RamsTV after the match, Wildsmith gave his verdict on the performance.

On the result...

It's two points dropped, really. The performance was there, it was just the chances that we didn't take. The lads are disappointed. It's one of those games that we dominated from start to finish, created chances but it's two points dropped at the end of the day.

On the home form...

It's difficult when teams come here when they have a gameplan of sitting in and putting players behind the ball. It's difficult to break down at times but we know we've got enough quality to break through teams and create chances - and we created chances today.

As much as it is difficult, we've got the ability to create those chances and on another day we would take them We've got enough confidence and ability in the changing room to do that.

On another game unbeaten...

It's another building block with three clean-sheets in a row now. The lads are feeling confident, especially defensively and Ryan Nyambe has slotted in nicely at right-back.

It's nice to have a steady back four and people building relationships and that's showing with the clean-sheets, but it's a team effort.

If we can build on the clean-sheets and turn games like today into wins then we can really start climbing up the league and put some pressure on.

On keeping concentration when you've not had much to do as a goalkeeper...

The biggest thing for me is to keep talking, keep talking to the back-line and it keeps me and them switched on.

I spoke with Andy Warrington before the season about being switched on and ready in games like this and I think that's where you show your worth as a goalkeeper.

In these games when there's not a lot going on at your end it's about keeping the two centre-halves and full-backs engaged and ready for counter-attacks and when called upon be ready to do my job.

On Blackpool next up on Tuesday...

It will be a tough game. They came here in the Carabao Cup at the start of the season when we weren't at our best and won the game, so we need to prove a point.

The lads are confident and can take confidence from the game today. I'm sure on another day the chances we created get put away.

On the tribute in the 31st minute to Josh Vickers following the passing of his wife...

It's difficult and it was devastating what happened to Josh's wife, Laura. The lads were around Josh and I want to pay my respects to him and his family at this tragic time.

I hope that he knows that everyone at Derby County is behind him and I think everyone showed that on 31 minutes, even the Cambridge fans showed their respect which was really nice.

He's been back in over the last couple of days and I think it's been really good for him. We've tried to keep high spirits for him and it's great to have him back involved today.
