Derby County have successfully won an appeal against the red card handed to goalkeeper Joe Wildsmith in last weekend’s Sky Bet League One fixture at Bolton Wanderers.

Wildsmith was dismissed early in the second half after being deemed to have denied the opposing team a goal or an obvious goalscoring opportunity by deliberately handling the ball outside the penalty area.

However, the club appealed against the decision and the Football Association has confirmed that the punishment against the shot-stopper has been withdrawn.

Wildsmith will now be available for selection for Derby’s next fixture against Portsmouth on Saturday 16th September at Pride Park Stadium.
