Derby County captain Conor Hourihane says there's 'a lot of frustration' in the dressing room following the 3-1 loss to Stevenage in Sky Bet League One on Saturday.

The Rams were unable to build on Tuesday's 2-0 home victory over Exeter City and succumbed to defeat in Hertfordshire.

Speaking to RamsTV after the game, the skipper gave his take on a disappointing afternoon.

On the performance...

It was very disappointing. We came here with high hopes after getting a good win on Tuesday against Exeter and we wanted to back that up with another good three points to get us up that table. It's frustrating of course, there's no getting away from it.

On Stevenage's second goal at the end of the first half...

It was literally the last kick of the first half which was a kick in the teeth but we made changes and I thought in the second half, especially first 15 minutes, we were well on top and dominating. They caught us on a couple of counters and got their third goal. Everyone's disappointed and there's lots of frustration, we know that and we get it. We wanted to come here and get the right result but it's just not happened for us.

On the test Stevenage posed...

It's the way they play, we knew it would be completely different to Exeter We spoke about it before the game so it wasn't a surprise to us. We needed to battle and win and show our quality. I think we did in spells but we didn't do it for long enough and we came undone.

On creating momentum...

We need to win more games it's as simple as that. The only way to get momentum is to win games. Tuesday night against Northampton at Pride Park will be completely different today; we'll have loads of the balls no doubt. There's all types of games in this league and it's flipped on it's head a little bit where all of a sudden we feel more comfortable at home. We just need to get some consistency.

On Tuesday night against Northampton...

We need to bounce back and get the win that we wanted to get here today. A big performance and result is needed.
