Rams Team News

Defender Callum Elder continues to be out of action after undergoing hernia surgery last week. He is expected to return to action following the international break and is making good progress in his rehabilitation work.

Right-sider Joe Ward (heel) returned to the grass this week after almost two months out of action and is closing in on a return to full-contact training.

Striker Tyreece John-Jules (quad) was also back doing work on the grass this week and is edging closer to his comeback after missing out in the last few weeks.

Midfielder Liam Thompson (quad) is progressing well but won't make a return until after the international break.

Defender Jake Rooney (knee) has undergone surgery on his damaged ACL and is set to be out of action for a lengthy period of time.

On loan Sunderland midfielder Elliot Embleton has returned to his parent club after injuring his quad in training last month and, after undergoing surgery, is to be out of action for several months

Pre-Match Thoughts

Head Coach Paul Warne spoke to RamsTV to preview Saturday's clash with the Robins.

He said: "Every game is difficult and if in any way we turn up thinking we have a divine right to win, then it's just naive.

"Luckily we go into it almost fully fit with no issues and we can do a little bit in the meeting room and a little bit on the grass to keep us fresh for the weekend."

Midfielder Max Bird sat down with RamsTV on Thursday to talk about his return to fitness after being sidelined from mid-August with an ankle issue.

He said: "It was a massive win the other night at Blackpool and we've got another away fixture at Cheltenham where we need to go and pick up a result. I think it will put us in good stead going into the international break if we can get a win."

Derby's allocation of tickets for Saturday's match have sold out.
