Pre-Match Thoughts: 'It's About Winning Games' - Fornah

Derby County midfielder Tyrese Fornah believes the team need to turn their recent draws into wins if they are to achieve their goal of promotion from Sky Bet League One.

The Rams travel to Blackpool on Tuesday night and do so unbeaten in four matches in all competitions, after picking up two draws and two wins, but Fornah is hoping the team can start turning the fine margins in their favour, starting with the trip to Bloomfield Road.

Fornah spoke to RamsTV about life since arriving in Derbyshire last month, his role in the team and looked ahead to the clash with the Seasiders.

On how he's settled in at the club after signing...

I've settled in pretty quickly to be fair. All the boys and all the staff have been really welcoming. I'm quite introverted so I try and gain respect on the pitch and everything take cares of itself.

On if he's gravitated towards anyone in particular...

No, to be honest, I treat everyone the same. I try and pal up with everyone and just be myself really so hopefully people take me for that.

On how he feels adjusting to playing every week...

It's just week-to-week; Tuesday to Saturday. I'm happy with how much I've played so far. It shows the faith from the club, Paul Warne and the coaching staff. There's real belief in me and it's down to me to really perform and show them why I'm here.

On how he rates his performances so far...

I don't know really, I think it's down to the boss and the staff. For me, I just try and give my all. Even if I have a bad game, they know I'm going to run for them.

I feel like they are starting to see the best of me now. I just try and give my all, run for my team-mates and when someone makes a mistake, try and help them out and just try and be the ultimate team player I can be.

On his role in the team...

It's more box-to-box but also helping Korey Smith or whoever is sitting alongside me. Sometimes I find myself sitting during the match but I also have licence to get into the box so it suits me down to a tee.

On Saturday's draw with Cambridge...

It's always frustrating when you're playing at home, creating a lot of chances, having a lot of the ball and don't win. We just have to take it into the next game. Ultimately we have to win matches. To go and win promotion, it's about winning. We don't feel like draws are good enough.

On Blackpool on Tuesday night...

I've got mixed memories of the place but we know what they are about, they've got some good individual players and are good as a team. We just have to go there and give a good account of ourselves.
