Derby County Women will kick off November with a home game against Halifax FC Women on Sunday afternoon (2pm kick-off).

dcfc.co.uk has brought together all the key information you will need to know ahead of the FA Women's National League Northern Premier Division fixture.

Manager's Thoughts...

Manager Sam Griffiths wants her side to maintain their impressive run of form after a productive October.

Derby picked up five wins from six in all competitions during the month, racking up three wins in the league and two in the National League Plate.

One thing the Ewes still need to do is pick up their first win of the season on home turf and Griffiths has stressed that another positive performance is required if they’re to claim all three points at the Don Amott Arena.

She said: “October has been a good month and we’ve tried to take each game as it comes.

“We’re seeming to be doing better on the road than at home, so we know what we need to do.

“Halifax will be a totally different game to what we’ve had at all season to be honest. We will have to bring the physical side to our game.

“As long as we are at our best, I think we can compete with anyone in this league.”

From The Dressing Room...

Club Captain Hannah Ward says the side are striving to be even better despite a positive October on the pitch.

Ward, who hit the impressive 300 appearances landmark for the club in last weekend’s 5-2 National League Plate success at Northampton Town, says the recent run of form has provided a positive feeling in the dressing room.

The experienced defender, however, says the group are always looking to improve and won’t be resting on their laurels.

She said: “We’re feeling positive at the moment.

“Halifax will be a difficult game so we’ll prepare well and take the positives from our recent matches.

“We will always reflect on each game and ensure we continue to try and improve.”

The League Season So Far...

Derby County Women have been in good form in recent weeks after a slow start to the 2023/24 season.

They go into Sunday's match against Halifax sixth in the league table after picking up four wins and four defeats from their eight outings.

Back-to-back league losses to Wolverhampton Wanderers (2-1 at home) and Liverpool Feds (3-2 on the road) was followed by a 7-1 hammering of Stourbridge to claim their first three points of the season.

A 1-0 loss on home turf against Newcastle United was their final fixture of September before the side claimed a superb 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground in early October.

A 2-1 home defeat to Stoke City followed a few days later, and since then Griffiths' side have picked up successive 4-0 league wins on the road at Huddersfield Town and AFC Fylde.
