Midfielder Korey Smith (knee) limped off with a knock during the 2-1 victory over Bristol Rovers and will have his fitness assessed ahead of Tuesday evening.

Striker Conor Washington (ankle) remains out of action after picking up an injury on international duty and is set for around three months out of action.

Defender Callum Elder (ankle) missed the last couple of league outings with an ankle knock and will be assessed once again ahead of Tuesday evening.

Midfielder Liam Thompson (quad) returned to the grass last week but remains a few weeks away from a return to full contact training.

Defender Jake Rooney (knee) has undergone surgery on his damaged ACL and is set to be out of action for a lengthy period of time.

On loan Sunderland midfielder Elliot Embleton has returned to his parent club after injuring his quad in training last month and, after undergoing surgery, is to be out of action for several months.

Pre-Match Thoughts

Head Coach Paul Warne spoke to RamsTV on Monday to preview the trip to Vale Park.

He said: "Against Stevenage and Shrewsbury in our recent away matches we weren't competitive enough to win - and we're going to have to be in this one.

"It will be a really tough game but one we want to try and go and compete at a level in to bring something back."

Rams winger Nathaniel Mendez-Laing also sat down with RamsTV ahead of Tuesday evening's match.

He said: "We just need to keep doing the same things. The lads are all working hard, pressing together and helping each other out. We are playing forward and with confidence so we need to keep doing what we're doing and being ruthless in front of goal."

Ticket Details

Derby's allocation of tickets for the game have sold out.

Derby were handed a total allocation of 3,106 tickets for the match and these have completely sold out. No further tickets will be made available.

Those fans without a ticket are advised not to make the trip to Port Vale, as they will be unable to gain access to the stadium.

Match Officials

Paul Howard will referee Tuesday evening's fixture and he will be assisted by Mark Jones and Darren Wilding. Grant Taylor has been appointed as Fourth Official for the contest.

Howard has officiated 16 games so far in the 2023/24 campaign, distributing 55 yellow cards, one red card and awarding one penalty across those.
