Derby County's Joe Ward says the side 'just have to keep winning' as they look to build momentum ahead of the upcoming the Christmas period.

Ward played the full 90 minutes at right back as the Rams dispatched fellow Sky Bet League One side Fleetwood Town 3-0 on Tuesday night in the Round of 32 in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy and he played a vital part in two of the three goals.

Speaking to RamsTV after the final whistle, Ward gave his verdict on the performance after a long-awaited return to the starting line-up after a spell out injured.

On how he's feeling...

I'm shattered, to be fair! It's been a while since I got that many minutes into my legs but it's a great feeling to get the win along with a good performance.

On the performance...

We scored some good goals, worked the ball well and there were some good finishes in there too. It was a good win.

On James Collins scoring twice...

He's been flying to be fair, in this competition and in the league. It's great to have your strikers flying as a wide man delivering the ball, because you know they are going to be on the end of it. You know Collo is going to be in the right position so you just have to get the delivery right and he'll be on the end of it.

On putting the injuries behind him...

It was frustrating to be injured for a while at the start of the season and then to come back and get another little niggle, but hopefully there's no more now and I can stay fit and start to fly for this team.

On building momentum...

We've just got to keep winning and keep the momentum, because it's massive. It builds confidence with everyone. The group is feeling good and it will push us on.
