Bristol Street Motors Trophy Pre-Match Thoughts: 'We Want To Win It' - Forsyth

Derby County defender Craig Forsyth says the team want to enjoy success in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy now they have progressed into the knockout stages.

Tuesday evening's home game against Fleetwood Town will be the first match of the knockout stages of the competition and, after winning Northern Section - Group G with three wins from three, it means the Rams are now just a handful of matches away from a potential trip to Wembley Stadium.

Speaking to RamsTV ahead of another midweek clash under the Pride Park Stadium floodlights, Forsyth previewed what will be the second meeting this season between Derby and Fleetwood after Paul Warne's side were 1-0 winners on home turf back in August.

On last Tuesday's win at Port Vale...

It was a difficult game. There weren't loads of chances really even though we did create the better of them. It was important to keep the winning run going, it was another win away from home and we're starting to build a bit of momentum.

On Tyreece John-Jules's return...

We saw the disappointment when the injuries happened to him and how frustrated he was but everyone has seen the work going on behind the scenes with him. The way he's dealt with it and kept going and tried to be good around the place, it's fitting that he got his reward coming on and scoring with his first touch.

On helping the injured lads around the place...

He's had a lot of people around him to do his rehabilitation with. There have always been people around him so he hasn't been isolated or on his own. Him and Tommo have done a lot of their work together so they've struck up a good relationship as well.

On Tuesday night's Trophy clash with Fleetwood...

We've had a weekend off with being out of the FA Cup so everybody is raring to go and hopefully looking forward to getting through to the next round.

On the potential of a Wembley trip...

We're in it now, we're through the group stages and towards the latter end of it. We want to stay in it and win it and the day out at Wembley Stadium would be a great place to do it.

On how the season is going for him...

I've gone back to left-back this year, but I'm happy with the way I've played most of the games and it's just about keeping going.
