Striker Tyreece John-Jules has extended his stay with Derby County until the end of the 2023/24 season.

John-Jules’ initial half-season loan with the Rams from Premier League side Arsenal expired earlier this week.

An agreement has now been reached with the Gunners for him to remain at Pride Park Stadium until the campaign’s conclusion.

John-Jules, who is 22, linked up with Paul Warne’s side in the early stages of the season and his time with Derby has brought with it 12 appearances and two goals to date.

He scored his first Derby goal in the side’s 1-0 success at Port Vale in Sky Bet League One at the end of November.

The game at Vale Park was his first after returning from injury and he found the back of the net with his first touch, in front of a packed away end, after coming off the bench in the second half.

John-Jules went on to find the net in his next appearance in the 3-0 home win over Fleetwood Town in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy Round of 32, firing home powerfully from the edge of the penalty area.

After a succession of appearances off the bench and building up his match sharpness, John-Jules’ first Rams start came in the 3-1 League One victory at Fleetwood earlier this month.

The Arsenal Academy graduate has had several spells out on loan gaining first team exposure in recent years and the vast majority have come in League One.

John-Jules has played 74 times in senior football in total and scored on 11 occasions. On the international stage, John-Jules has represented England at every youth level between Under-16s and Under-21s.
