Derby County Women will return to action after an 11-day break when they host AFC Fylde at the Don Amott Arena on Sunday afternoon (2pm kick-off).

dcfc.co.uk has brought together all the key information you will need to know ahead of the FA Women's National League Northern Premier Division fixture.

Manager's Thoughts...

Manager Sam Griffiths has stressed the importance of her side being ‘better than our best’ against AFC Fylde.

The league’s bottom team are still without a win this term, having lost 12 and drawn three of their 15 matches to date, but Griffiths has made it clear not to expect an easy game.

Derby have hit a tricky run of form in the league of late, drawing one and losing three of their last four, so the Ewes’ boss says the team need to step up and return to winning ways.

She said: “There won’t be any complacency in the camp and we know it will be a difficult game.

“Fylde won’t be an easy team to face and there are never any easy fixtures in this league, I have said that before.

“These are even harder fixtures when you’re struggling a little bit for confidence, or whatever it is in the group at the minute, like we have been lately.”

She added: “We are going to have to be even better than at our best to get anything out of the game.”

The Last Time We Met...

Derby were 4-0 winners when the sides met in the reverse fixture back in October.

Midfielder Becky May scored her second goal in as many games after ten minutes to give Derby a half-time lead.

Skipper Amy Sims headed in the Ewes' second just after the break before Emelia Wilson's long-range strike added a third with 20 minutes remaining.

Substitute Kira Rai rounded off the scoring in added time to round off an excellent afternoon's work.
