Derby County set a new club record in their Sky Bet League One victory at Cambridge United on Saturday.

Derby were 1-0 winners at the Cledara Abbey Stadium as they continue in their quest to achieve promotion back to English football’s second tier.

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing’s first half goal proved to be the difference between the two sides on the day.

Paul Warne’s side have now set a club record for 13 victories away from home in a league campaign.

The previous record of 12 was set by Derby in the 2004/05 and 2006/07 seasons, both in the Championship, under George Burley and Billy Davies respectively.

The Rams equalled that return in their 3-0 success at Bristol Rovers last month, before making the record their very own against the U’s.

The Rams have now set two club records this season, after the 3-0 home win over Leyton Orient last weekend saw them achieve a record point return in a single campaign.
