Defender Craig Forsyth has stated his pride in putting on a Derby County shirt after entering the top 20 of the club’s all-time appearance list.
The veteran left-back made his 357th competitive appearance for the club on Wednesday evening when Derby fell to a narrow 2-1 defeat against Swansea City at Pride Park Stadium.
The Rams will be looking to get back to winning ways on home turf when they face Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday (3pm kick-off).
Long-serving defender Forsyth, who has been with the club since 2013, caught up with RamsTV to discuss reaching another milestone with Derby and look forward to Sunday’s meeting with Sheffield Wednesday.
On breaking into the top 20 all-time appearance holders for the club…
It's something that I’m massively proud of. To make that many appearances for this football club, it's something you can't sit back and fully appreciate until after you've finished. I’m delighted to be there in the appearance list and, hopefully, there's more to come.
On keeping a unique place in the club’s history…
I did sit and have a look at the list of players above me the other night, and some of the names on there are unbelievable people who achieved great things to an extent that I'll never be able to for Derby County, so to be around those names with the same number of games is great.
Growing up as a young boy, you just want to make one appearance. That’s probably enough to have lived that childhood dream, but to go out and play so many names for this football club brings me great pride.
On the importance of Sunday’s game against Sheffield Wednesday at Pride Park…
It's very important after the disappointment of Wednesday night to get back on a winning trail at home after losing against Swansea and taking a draw against Plymouth earlier in the month. They were not the results that we wanted, but we've got a chance to put it right on Sunday and pick up that momentum again.
