Derby County Academy midfielder Harry Hawkins’ loan spell at Southern Central League side AFC Telford ended in promotion via the Play-Offs for the Bucks on Saturday.

The 19-year-old first moved to Telford on a 28-day loan deal in December 2024 and had his spell with the club extended to see home remain with the promotion contenders until the end of the season.

The midfielder, who has also made 12 appearances for the Rams’ Under-21s in Premier League 2 this season, featured 17 times for Telford and played a pivotal role as they secured a play-off place, finishing third in the league.

Hawkins joined Derby’s Under-21s squad on a full-time basis ahead of the 2024/25 season after signing a new deal with the Rams.

The loan spell with Telford has seen Hawkins gain his first in-depth experience of competitive senior men’s football – an experience that ended with the Bucks securing a spot in National League North next season after a 4-2 win over Kettering Town in the Play-Off Final on Saturday.
