Midfielder Ebou Adams gave an honest assessment after Derby County were defeated 5-3 by Coventry City.

Derby’s first match on home soil in the 2025/26 Sky Bet Championship season ended in defeat after an action-packed game saw both teams take the lead and level the scoring on several occasions, with Coventry dealing the final blows in the second half to deny the Rams maximum points.
Adams’ goal in the fifth minute of the second half made it 3-2 to the Rams, giving them the lead for the first time in the game - but Coventry fought back to finish the game 5-3 winners.
Adams caught up with RamsTV after the first home outing of the new campaign.
I think it's a difficult one; the emotions are a bit raw. It's annoying. The attitude that we had to come back from 1-0 down and 2-1 down to go 3-2 up was good, but we need to do more.
I thought we had them, but then we gave them a chance - and they took it. The match lasts at least 95 or 100 minutes, and we need to play until the final whistle and see out the games.

We're going to rest and debrief this game. Like I said, the emotions are raw at the moment. It's a good thing that the match against Bristol City is less than a week away. We've got to put things right.
