WALK OF FAME: First inductees named following installation

It was confirmed last month that Derby County are to continue to pay tribute to individuals that have played a key part in the club’s long and proud history at Pride Park Stadium.

A number of heritage projects have been undertaken at the club’s home since the purchase of the club by Clowes Developments (UK) Ltd three years ago.

These have included:

Moments that Mattered posters, selected by supporters, which are on display in the players’ tunnel.

Memorabilia Exhibit in Harrison’s Hub with continues to display items from various eras.

Legacy Numbers for all those players that have represented the Rams in a competitive match.

Golden 50 celebrations to remember the 1974/75 First Division title success.

The latest phase of the continuing work is the installation of a Walk of Fame on the exterior of Pride Park Stadium, recognising the efforts of former players, managers and other key individuals.

This has started on the exterior of the East Stand next to the turnstiles and, in time by adding more individuals on a regular basis, be extended to the North Stand.

Several key figures have already been honoured in different ways around Pride Park Stadium in the form of Brian Clough & Peter Taylor, Steve Bloomer, Lionel Pickering, Reg Harrison, Roy McFarland, Dave Mackay, Gordon Guthrie and Igor Stimac.

They have automatically been inducted onto the Walk of Fame, close to the locations of where they have already been recognised at Pride Park Stadium.

However, supporters were invited to nominate other names to be placed on the Walk of Fame in the first phase of the project and based on the number of votes received the following have been installed.

They are:

Kevin Hector
Jim Smith
Arthur Cox
Craig Bryson
Colin Todd
Craig Forsyth
Charlie George
Ron Webster
Paulo Wanchope
Alan Hinton
Jack Stamps
Stefano Eranio

The next phase of the Walk of Fame will take place at an unconfirmed date in the future but the club is committed to continuing to honour its heritage and those individuals that have played such a key role.
