Sky Bet and the British Heart Foundation (BHF), with support from the EFL, have unveiled a brand new ‘Red Boot’ award - set to be given to the top scorer across all three EFL divisions during the 2025/26 season.

The new initiative forms part of the second year of the ‘Every Minute Matters’ campaign aimed at raising awareness of CPR and supporting vital heart research.
Unlike the traditional Golden Boot awards handed out in each division, the Red Boot will go to the highest overall goalscorer across the Sky Bet Championship, League One and League Two.
Every goal scored by the Red Boot winner this season will generate a £50,000 donation to help fund the BHF's CureHeart research programme, which focuses on developing treatments and cures for inherited heart muscle diseases.
Had the Red Boot existed last season, it would have been awarded to Bromley's Michael Cheek, whose 25 League Two goals would have raised £1.25 million for the cause.
Sky Bet and the BHF aim to reach over 500,000 people with the free online CPR training tool RevivR by the end of the season – building on the 300,000 already engaged in 2024/25.
Every 90 minutes at least six people in the UK suffer an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest – equating to more than 40,000 a year.
Tragically, less than one in ten people survive, often because those around them lack the skills or confidence to perform CPR. What’s more, 8 in 10 of these cardiac arrests happen in the home.
