Three students from The Royal School for the Deaf Derby have been selected to represent Great Britain in Women’s Football at the 2025 Deaflympics.

Evie Lake, Isabel Ash and Summer Grabowski and will compete at the event in Tokyo, Japan between November 15th and November 26th.
The Deaflympics is an international multi-sport event for deaf athletes, which has been held every four years since 1924.
All three players were invited to Pride Park Stadium for Derby County’s Sky Bet Championship win over Norwich City, where they told their story to RamsTV pre-match before also taking part in a Q&A on the pitch at half-time.
Evie said: “To represent Great Britain at this level, to perform on the world stage, it’s incredible and I’m proud to be selected.”

Evie, Isabel and Summer all share the goal of winning a medal at the Deaflympics and they are confident in their chances in Tokyo.
Derby County is actively exploring ways to enhance the matchday experience for deaf and hard of hearing supporters.
Induction loop systems are available for home and away fans, as well as in key areas such as the Ticket Office, while our stewards have also recently completed an Introduction to BSL (British Sign Language) training module.
