Derby County Academy goalkeeper Jack Thompson has extended his loan spell Braintree Town.

Thompson, who was last week away on international duty with England’s Under-20s for their friendly against Japan, has committed to another month with the National League side.
He made five appearances for the Iron during his initial month’s loan, keeping two cleans in the process.
The 18-year-old’s most recent shut-out came in last weekend’s 2-0 home win over Truro City.
Thompson previously gained senior experience during a loan spell with Southern League Premier Division Central side Worcester City earlier this term, and stints with Kettering Town and Alfreton Town last season.
Academy graduate Thompson has made four appearances for the Under-21s this campaign, alongside a single outing for the B Team.
He has been on Derby's books since the age of eight and put pen-to-paper on his first professional contract with the club in December 2023, while he received his first England Under-18s call-up in early 2024.
