AWARD NOMINATION: Zetterstrom named on Championship Player of the Month shortlist

Derby County goalkeeper Jacob Widell Zetterström has been nominated for the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award for October 2025.

The Sweden international shot-stopper enjoyed an impressive month between the posts for John Eustace’s side.

Derby faced 17 efforts on target in their four games in October yet conceded just two goals. That was largely due to Zetterström’s consistency and shot-stopping ability with a series of fine reaction saves against Southampton, Oxford United and Norwich City.

Zetterström, 27, kept two clean sheets during the month in the home victories against Norwich and Queens Park Rangers.

Sonny Carey of Charlton Athletic, Coventry City’s Brandon Thomas-Asante and Femi Azeez of Millwall are the second tier’s other nominations for the accolade.

The judging panel for the Sky Bet Player of the Month comprises Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman, EFL Chief Executive Trevor Birch and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.
