The EFL start dates for the 2026/27 season have been confirmed, with Round One of the Carabao Cup set to kick off the new campaign, before the Sky Bet Championship, League One and League Two begin the following weekend.

The 2026/27 season will see Round One of the Carabao Cup take place over the weekend of 7th-9th August, with league action set to start a week later over the weekend of 14th-16th August.
Derby have enjoyed a remarkable run of Round One success in the past decade, winning nine of their previous ten ties at that stage of the competition, including earlier this season when the Rams defeated West Bromwich Albion 3-2 on penalties at The Hawthorns.
