Ben Brereton Díaz says Derby County are in a strong position to “push on” after 26 Sky Bet Championship matches.

The Rams head to Deepdale on Saturday afternoon as they return to league action, and they will be looking to return to winning ways after a narrow 2-1 reverse against Wrexham last time out in the second-tier.
Brereton Díaz netted two in the last two competitive matches for the Rams, opening the scoring in last Sunday’s 3-1 Emirates FA Cup exit against Leeds United and against Wrexham at Pride Park Stadium.
The attacker spoke with RamsTV and looked back on the season so far, reflected on his recent goal contributions and emphasised the importance of continuing to progress - starting against Preston.
I want to score goals, work and create chances for the team. I'm really happy with the last two games, getting the goals, which I needed.
My last goal was early in the season against Wrexham, so it was nice to get a couple of goals. I wouldn't say it was on my mind (wanting to score), as my first thing is do things for the team and be a team player.
I feel like the squad has been doing really well, and I feel a part of that, which has been great, and now we need to push on in the second half of the season. We've put ourselves in a good place to do that.

It has been brilliant. I've come here to play football, and the gaffer has been brilliant with me. I've played a lot of games, feeling really fit. I came here because I knew it was a great club. A lot of people have told me. Since I've been here, I've really enjoyed myself. The lads have been brilliant. It's a great club to be a part of.
Definitely really good. It's all or nothing in every session. You can't take your foot off the gas. It's really intense, but that's how it's supposed to be. It's Championship football. We need to win games. It's a high level. It's been great, and I've really enjoyed it.

I've always liked playing against Preston. It's a nice ground, with good fans, so it's always a good atmosphere there. I’m looking forward to going there at the weekend, and hopefully we can get one back on them this season.
