INTERVIEW: "We're Full Of Confidence" - Clark

Bobby Clark says Derby County are ‘full of confidence’ following their 1-0 home victory over Middlesbrough on Thursday.

Clark’s goal midway through the second half gave Derby the perfect start to 2026, earning a ninth Sky Bet Championship victory of the 2025/26 season.

The FC Red Bull Salzburg loanee admitted after the New Year's Day victory that he’s been desperate to add more goals to his game despite adopting a new role operating slightly deeper in midfield in recent months.

Ahead of Sunday afternoon’s meeting with Wrexham at Pride Park Stadium (3pm kick-off), Clark told RamsTV just how much the win against Middlesbrough has done for the team’s belief.

On Securing A Crucial Victory Against Boro:

There have been so many games recently, but the lads have dug in brilliantly to get through them. That win was something that we very much needed; we were all buzzing to get the three points.

On A Quick Turnaround To Hosting Wrexham:

We've just got to recover well like we have done from the last few games. We got a big win at Pride Park against Middlesbrough and we're excited to be back here again on Sunday. We're full of confidence.

On A Desire To Add More Goals To His Game:

That's exactly what I've been wanting to do. I've been playing deeper recently, but against Middlesbrough I played with a bit more freedom.

Arriving in the box, getting goals and assists is definitely something I need to add to my game.

It's probably been something I've been overthinking a bit too much, making me snatch at a few opportunities, so I was buzzing it went in the back of the net the other day.

I had a little knee-on-knee against Leicester and I was a bit worried in the game, but thankfully I recovered well and it’s all good now.
