Derby County will play their second of back-to-back Sky Bet Championship away matches when they travel to South London for their clash with Charlton Athletic on Tuesday night (7.45pm kick-off).
The Rams enter the Tuesday night tie under the lights off the back of an impressive 1-0 win against Preston North End at Deepdale on Saturday.
Patrick Agyemang scored his seventh goal of the season in the 82nd minute after a dominant display to secure all three points in Lancashire.
The win at Preston saw John Eustace’s side on the scoresheet for the 18th consecutive competitive match.

Derby will be looking to carry on the momentum on the road when they visit The Valley.
The points were shared when Charlton travelled to Pride Park Stadium in September 2025, as Matt Clarke’s second-half header cancelled out James Bree’s first-half volley.
Tickets went off sale ONLINE, IN-PERSON and via TELEPHONE from the DCFC Ticket Office at 12pm on Monday 19th January 2026.

Assistant Head Coach Matt Gardiner sat down with RamsTV for an in-depth conversation ahead of Derby County’s 2025/26 Sky Bet Championship trip to Charlton Athletic.
Ahead of the trip to The Valley, midfielder David Ozoh spoke with RamsTV after his recent return from injury to look back on the victory over Preston and preview the Rams' trip to South London.
After securing promotion to the Championship via the League One Play-Offs last season, Nathan Jones’ Charlton Athletic have held their own in the league as they play second-tier football for just the fourth season in the last ten years.
After a run of four seasons in the Championship from 2012/13 until 2015/16, the Addicks have only been back in the division once, in 2019/20, but saw a straight return to League One .

So far this season, Charlton have registered eight wins and eight draws from 26 matches, and they currently sit in 18th spot – five points away from the relegation zone.
Midfielder Sonny Carey tops the scoring chart for the Addicks with six goals in the league, while winger Tyreece Campbell and Southampton loanee James Bree lead the assists with three each.
The January addition of Queens Park Rangers striker and Scotland international Lyndon Dykes will look to improve Jones’ team’s effectiveness in attack.
The loan transfer of Ipswich Town right-back Harry Clarke could be a shrewd addition too, providing promotion-winning experience.

On the opposite flank, Charlton added left-back Jérôme Roussillon to the squad as a free agent on a short-term deal at the end of November 2025.
The 33-year-old brings plenty of pedigree in the German Bundesliga with VfL Wolfsburg and Union Berlin, where he played UEFA Champions League and Europa League football for both sides.
Charlton will host
the Rams on Tuesday night off the back of a 1-0 win over 10-man Sheffield
United at The Valley, where they have picked up points in seven of their previous
ten home games in the league.
The Rams won 1-0 when they last made the trip to Charlton in League One in February 2024. They last secured victory in South London when they visited the home of the Addicks in 1995.
Seven goals and a dramatic comeback in Division 1 on 14th January 1995 provided a classic meeting between Charlton and Derby at The Valley.
The hosts gained a two-goal advantage at half-time; David Whyte opened the scoring for Charlton before Craig Short pulled things back level with a thunderous effort on the half volley from inside the penalty box.
Alan Pardew regained the lead for the Addicks with a bicycle kick from close range before Mark Robson extended their lead when Steve Sutton’s save from a Mickey Bennett shot was parried into his path to be turned into an empty net from a tight angle. The game went to the break at 3-1.
Marco Gabbiadini reduced the deficit in the second half after a free-kick from deep was nodded into his path, and he struck a first-time effort into the back of the net.
Gabbiadini was instrumental again as Derby drew level. A line-breaking punt upfield from Sutton was met by the Rams striker, and some neat link-up play saw Mark Stallard go one-on-one with the goalkeeper and feint beyond him to tap the ball into the net.
The victory came when Stallard played Gabbiadini into a position to charge at the Charlton back-line, and the Derby number 10 took his chance expertly, surging beyond defenders and into the box to finish and complete a sensational second-half turnaround to win 4-3.
James Linington will officiate Tuesday’s Championship clash. He has overseen 11 second-tier fixtures so far this term, handing out 38 yellow cards and one red card.

Linington last held the whistle in a Rams match in November’s away match against Middlesbrough.
The assistant referees at The Valley will be Alex James and Ian Cooper, while the fourth official duties will be taken by Charles Breakspear.
