Oscar Fraulo is a Ram! The 22-year-old has arrived from Bundesliga side Borussia Mönchengladbach, becoming Derby County’s second signing of the January transfer window.

A dynamic central midfielder, the Danish Under-21 international has already tasted first team football in the UEFA Champions League, Superliga, Bundesliga and Eredivisie - and is now set to bring his exciting potential to Pride Park Stadium.
This is Oscar’s footballing story so far…
Born in Odense, Denmark, to a family of Italian descent, Fraulo began his footballing journey at the age of seven with Odense Kammeraternes Sportsklub (OKS).
At 13 years old, he joined FC Midtjylland’s Academy, where he progressed through the ranks before debuting as a substitute in a UEFA Champions League qualifier at home to PSV Eindhoven in August 2021.
Fraulo made his Superliga debut at the end of the 2021/22 campaign, coming off the bench during a 2-0 defeat at home to Aalborg BK.

His potential attracted the attention of German top-flight side Borussia Mönchengladbach, with whom he penned a four-year deal in June 2022.
Mostly featuring for the reserve team in his maiden season in Germany, Fraulo made two First Team appearances during the second half of the 2021/22 campaign, coming off the bench against RB Leipzig and Stuttgart.
The following summer saw Fraulo link up with Eredivisie side FC Utrecht on a season-long loan deal for the 2022/23 campaign. He made his debut away at PEC Zwolle, before scoring his first senior goal in dramatic fashion two months into his spell in the Netherlands. The midfielder’s deft chip in the final minute secured Utrecht a stunning 4-3 victory against Ajax.

He featured in all 32 league matches since his arrival that August, scoring again in the draw at home to FC Twente, and setting up a further four goals, as the Dane became an integral part of Utrecht’s side.
So valuable was he to the Dutch outfit, Fraulo re-joined for a further season-long loan to cover the 2024/25 season. It proved another successful stint, as he helped Utrecht to a fourth-place finish in the Eredivisie, earning qualification for the UEFA Europa League second qualifying round.
He surpassed his previous season’s goal tally, notching on three occasions during victories over NAC Breda and RKC Waalwijk, as well as in the draw against PEC Zwolle.

Fraulo ended the campaign by featuring in all four matches in Denmark Under-21’s run to the UEFA European Under-21 Championship quarter-finals.
He set up current Newcastle United forward - and one-time Derby loanee - William Osula’s winner in the victory over the Netherlands, as Denmark topped Group D before losing 3-2 to France in the last eight.

Returning to Borussia Mönchengladbach last summer, he has been a regular fixture in their matchday squads this term, and scored when coming off the bench during a 4-0 away rout over St. Pauli.
