INTERVIEW: Fraulo hails ‘potential’ and ‘confidence’ in the Rams Squad Ahead of Watford Trip

Oscar Fraulo says he sees a squad full of ‘potential’ as he assesses his first two months at Derby County ahead of Saturday’s clash with Watford on the road.

Fraulo was the first new arrival at the club during the January transfer window.

The young Danish playmaker joined from Borussia Mönchengladbach for an undisclosed fee on a deal that runs until the summer of 2029.

Fraulo, 22, made his full league debut for the club in the 2-0 win over Swansea City.

RamsTV caught up with the midfielder this week to find out how he is adapting to life with the club ahead of Derby’s away clash with Watford.

On His Life in England and the Challenge of Football In his Country

I have really liked my start here. It was easy to come into the team because there are good players here and they helped me. So, it was easy for me. And, in general, I have found that English football is really open and nice.

On the Challenge Facing Young Footballers From Overseas Jumping Straight into Championship Football

I think English culture is like the Danish one. It’s open, and people want to help you.

It has been made easier by my new teammates. And I’ve just come straight into it. There have been seven games already, and I’ve been here a little bit more than one month. That's the best way to come into a team, just go straight into playing games and being part of the team.

So, it's been comfortable for me so far. I like it. I like that the ball is always going back and forth (in the Championship). When you win your duels and when you're one against one, then you have a lot of chances to play, too.

On the Experience of Making His Full League Debut for the Club

It was a good win. I think it was a good performance from the whole team. We had some difficult periods during the game, but in the end, we won 2-0, which brings three points and more confidence to the team.

On Meeting the Supporters at a Signing Session at Pride Park This Week

Especially after the signing, now I really understand how much support we have. I think some people were standing for like three hours and just waiting for us. So, it's crazy to have so much support.

We will try to do our best to give them something back on the pitch.

On the Upturn in Form Since He Arrived at the Club

I think we have a really good team. We have a big squad, a lot of players who we can change, who can give us new energy.

I think we have a lot of potential, and the good thing is we are playing well, but we can play even better. So, I think that's also a good sign.

And I will just do my best to push the other players - if I'm not playing or if I'm playing. I want to give everything - play as much as possible - do a good job and work hard for the club.
