Derby County B Team secured a 2-0 victory against Notts County in the Central League on Tuesday afternoon.

The Rams put in a good shift to claim all three points against the local visitors, who failed to convert as Derby limited their chances.
An early strike from forward Marley Mintus gave the Rams the lead, before he doubled his tally midway through the second half to extend the lead.
Derby wasted no time in their attempts to open the scoring, as Justin Oguntolu fired just wide of the target in the sixth minute, following a neat breakaway.
Shortly after, Mintus grabbed his first goal by capitalising on a defensive error and calmly slotting the ball home for 1-0 in the seventh minute.
Some heroic reflexes from goalkeeper Harley Price in the tenth minute denied the visitors an equaliser, as he stretched to reach a curling effort from Harrison Hazard.

Derby looked for a second in the 24th minute, as Niall McAndrew had his shot parried by Milai Perott, which fell to team-mate Mintus, whose follow-up header was caught comfortably by the goalkeeper.
Mintus was amongst the goals again midway through the second half, following another mix-up from Notts, as the forward struck the ball past Perrott for 2-0.
The attacker drove forward into the area and confidently finished to extend the Rams’ lead.

“It was a scrappy game today,” said Senior Professional Development Coach Danny Maye, after the match at Moor Farm.

“Neither team had real control as there were so many turnovers. That being said, we looked solid defensively and didn’t become too expansive in tough moments.
“This meant we gave away little space and opportunity. When we did have chances to press, we did it well, which led to both goals. It was a professional performance today, without us having enough control when we had the ball.”..
