REPORT: Derby County U18 0-3 Stoke City U18

Derby County Under-18s fell to defeat against Stoke City in Premier League- North on Saturday afternoon.

The Young Rams slipped to eleventh in the Premier League- North table, after the loss at Moor Farm.

Goals from Ryan Liu, Thomas Midwood, and substitute Connor Day secured all three points for the visitors.

Key Moments

The game started openly for both sides, though it was Israel Green who had two standout chances on the half-hour mark. The forward’s right-footed attempts were well struck but ultimately fired wide of the target.

The first half contained few chances for either side, and the game went into half-time, goalless.

Marley Mintus looked to put Derby on the scoresheet with just under 25 minutes left of the second half, though his effort from the edge of the area was hit too high of the target.

A goal from Liu gave Stoke the lead on 70 minutes after his right-footed shot found the bottom right corner.

The visitors added a second with eight minutes remaining of the second half, through Midwood, before an effort from Day found the top right corner for three.

The Under-18s will travel to the Sir Jack Hayward Training Ground next Saturday, as they face Wolverhampton Wanderers in Premier League- North (11am kick-off).
