Derby County welcomes and encourages supporters from all backgrounds to put their names forward to be considered for a position as an Independent Director on the Derby County Supporters’ Board.

The Supporters’ Board was launched in 2024 with a remit to discuss matters primarily relating to Finance and Governance of the club directly with the Derby County board.
The Supporters’ Board works in parallel with the existing Supporters’ Charter Group, with both chambers reporting to each other.
The Supporters’ Board is looking to recruit two independent members. They will operate alongside members of the board, which includes two representatives from the Supporters’ Charter Group (Rams Trust and Punjabi Rams) and three independent roles.
The independent director roles will be filled following an application process, with the responsibilities detailed here:
Chair of the Supporters’ Board, Hilary Leam, said: “Supporters should have a real voice in shaping the club’s future. We welcome applications from fans with a passion for Derby County who want to work constructively with the club and represent the interests of supporters.”
All applications will be considered and reviewed, including previous applicants. A shortlist will be selected and passed to a panel comprising a club representative, an independent representative from the Football Supporters’ Association and a current member of the Derby County Supporters' Board.
Independent directors will hold the role for two years and for a maximum of two terms. Directors from the Supporters’ Charter Group will hold the role for three years, again for a maximum of two terms. If you wish to reach out to the Supporters’ Board for any further information or to find out more, please email [email protected].
The closing date for the application is Friday 17th April. Successful applicants will be contacted shortly after to arrange interviews.
If you are interested, please make sure you are willing to give up your time to be part of the meetings and discussions. There will be a minimum of four Board meetings per season. All applicants must be over the age of 18.
A covering letter outlining your skill sets and reasons for applying is required, but there is no necessity to attach a CV.*
