2025/26 AWARDS: Clarke Named Jack Stamps Player of the Season

Matt Clarke has been named as Derby County’s Jack Stamps Player of the Season for the 2025/26 campaign.

Clarke was presented with the award at the club’s End of Season Dinner – sponsored by McAndrew Utilities & Civil Engineering – at Pride Park Stadium on Tuesday night.

Supporters voted to select their winner, with the experienced defender adding the Jack Stamps Trophy to the Supporters’ Club Player of the Season award that he picked up two weeks ago.

The Derby County Men’s First Team, Women’s First Team, Academy and Community Trust were all represented at the event, which celebrated the campaign across the whole club.

Award Winners

Matt Clarke’s sublime defensive displays saw him voted as Jack Stamps Player of the Season – securing the accolade for the second time, having picked up the award during his first spell with the club on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion back in 2019/20.

The 29-year-old has featured in all but one of the Rams’ Sky Bet Championship games so far this season, scoring three goals and recording four assists from the heart of defence.

Clarke’s peerless campaign also saw him voted by the Men’s First Team squad as Men’s Players’ Player of the Season.

Bobby Clark’s stellar performances in the middle of the park earned him the Sammy Crooks Young Player of the Season award.

The Red Bull Salzburg loanee’s combative and creative input saw him flourish, providing four goals and four assists in all competitions in 2025/26.

Jaydon Banel’s moment of magic, to secure a late 3-2 win against Queens Park Rangers, was selected as Men’s Goal of the Season by the supporters at the Awards Dinner.

Carlton Morris’ 12 goals in all competitions so far earned him the Men's Highest Goalscorer award at the end of his first season in black and white.

The Men’s Save of the Season award went to Jacob Widell Zetterström for his superb stop from Scott Twine’s free-kick in August 2025’s 1-1 draw with Bristol City at Pride Park Stadium.

Women’s First Team Captain Emily Joyce earned the Women’s Player of the Season award.

Joyce picked up the accolade for the third time - having previously won in 2022/23 and 2023/24 - after receiving the most votes from her teammates, staff and Derby County Women volunteers.

Forward Minnie Wilson’s impressive first season with the Ewes secured her the Women’s Young Player of the Season award.

At Academy level, Under-18s midfielder Charlie Smith picked up the Scholar of the Season award, having signed a new deal with the club and featured in the First Team matchday squad on multiple occasions.

In addition,goalkeeper Spencer O’Neill was named as Academy Player of the Season.

The Brian Clough Award - presented to an off-field member of staff in recognition of outstanding service and contribution to the club - went to Lead First Team Analyst James Hare.

Rams stalwart Craig Forsyth received a special recognition award on the night for his recent monumental appearance milestone, after featuring in his 400th Derby match when the Rams clashed with Southampton in early April.
