Pool Plant Operator

Derby County Football Club is looking to recruit a Pool Plant Operator to join our in-house maintenance team and work at our Category One Academy at Moor Farm Training Centre.
The successful candidate will ensure that pool plant, operations and systems are maintained and implemented effectively to optimise the safe use of all pools at Moor Farm Training Centre.
In addition, the successful candidate will support the Maintenance Team in completing H&S testing and compliance, carrying out general maintenance tasks, and escalating to the Stadium Engineer when appropriate.
Key Responsibilities:
Pool Duties
To monitor or undertake pool water chemical balance readings as part of the daily pool operation as necessary.Interpret the results collated from the pool water tests, compare with the optimum range, and take appropriate action.To carry out regular checks on plant and equipment as specified by the manufacturer and carry out routine inspections of equipment as appropriate to ensure the equipment is safe for use.To ensure that all tasks and activities associated with the Pool are undertaken in accordance with Health and Safety Management policies, the specific pool operating procedures and risk assessments.To ensure that legally required routine checks, monitoring and maintenance are carried out at the recommended frequency.To ensure effective stock control with respect to maintenance elements including pool water chemicalsTo carry out pool tests and cleaning duties to ensure the pool and surrounding area are kept in excellent condition.Complete accurate reports such as record keeping, maintenance and water testing logs.Ensure pool surrounds and tide marks are cleaned appropriately.Ensure that microbiological tests are carried out at the recommended frequency and when deemed necessary in other circumstances. Ensure the results are monitored and appropriate action is taken when necessary.
Maintenance Duties
To carry out basic repairs and general maintenance work at Moor Farm.To ensure workspaces are kept clean, clear and free of obstruction in line with Health and Safety regulations.To provide maintenance support where tasks include basic electrical work, painting and decorating, plumbing, seat repairs, barriers, carpentry, doors, concrete and car park repairs. (Qualifications required for specialist experience)Removal and rearranging of furnishings, rubbish, goods and waste to ensure a safe and high-spec environment for all individuals using DCFC facilities.To carry out various projects and tasks to allow the smooth running of the training ground.To ensure that whilst performing duties and repairs, health and safety / legal requirements are adhered to.Advise on faults and the need for replenishment or replacement of goods.To carry out basic porter duties for non-matchday / matchday and function use.Communicate with your line manager, colleagues and customers to ensure that they are fully notified of any delays to work with a new and agreed completion date provided.To distribute salt and grit around the Club grounds as required, in preparation for severe weather.
Personal characteristics and experience:
Experience working with swimming pools is desirableExperience in working within water treatment is desirableManual handling ability and trade skillsPainting and decorating skillsAn understanding of the different types of pool water testing equipment needed to ensure good quality pool water, including the use of comparators and/or photometers is desirableAn understanding of the procedures for pool water testing is desirableAn understanding of the optimum range for pool water testing results is desirableExcellent communication skillsBasic health and safety knowledgeAbility to work as part of a team as well as using own initiativeFlexible approach with the ability to problem-solveConfident, Resilient and Self MotivatedAbility to work in a fast-paced, target driven environmentAbility to prioritise and manage own workload

Desirable Qualifications
A relevant qualification in respect of pool operations – Small Pool Operators Certificate or similarIPAF MEWP accreditation
The post holder will be required to occasionally work irregular hours to satisfactorily fulfil the requirements of the post.
Salary dependent on experience.
This is a full-time position based at our training ground in Oakwood, Derby.
This role will sometimes require weekend and evening work in line with the Academy programme.
