Biography

Amy Sims has been part of the Derby County Women first-team set-up for several years.

Sims, who came through the ranks in the Women’s Academy and had a brief one-season stint with Notts County, has been part of the Ewes’ senior group since the 2017/18 campaign.

She has played in various positions across the pitch and made the move from right back to a more attacking role in the 2022/23 season to great effect.

She shared the Golden Boot award with Millie Ravening of Burnley with 18 goals in the league and Sims’ performances over the course of the campaign, netting 19 goals in 26 matches in all competitions, also saw her named in the FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division Team of the Season.

Sims, who was the Ewes’ Young Player of the Season in 2021/22, was named as Team Captain ahead of the 2023/24 campaign with Hannah Ward taking on a club captain role.

She also scored the crucial goal in a 1-0 success over Nottingham Forest at Pride Park Stadium in the 2018/19 season as Sam Griffiths’ side did the double over the Reds and entered the 2023/24 season with 131 appearances and 34 goals to her name.
