TEAM NEWS…

Derby’s first-team squad and staff will not be in attendance on Saturday following several COVID-19 cases in the Rams' camp, in line with protocols which have been set by the UK Government, EFL and the club.

Derby’s Under-23s and Under-18s will instead fulfil the Cup tie and will be led by Under-23s coaches Pat Lyons and Gary Bowyer.

PRE-MATCH THOUGHTS…

Speaking to RamsTV ahead of Saturday's game, Pat Lyons said: “As you can imagine it has been a bit mad and as I sit in this chair now, it’s obviously a surreal moment, but a proud moment as well.

“I have been at the club a long time and I am also looking forward to the game on Saturday and everything that goes with it. We should all look forward to it. It has been a busy week but now everything is getting nearer to game day, let’s go and enjoy it.

“It is a great opportunity for the players. We are really looking forward to it as staff to see how they perform on Saturday and hopefully they can put on a performance they are proud of.”

He added: "We are saying to the players all the time that they have to train as if every day is your last training session and every game you get judged on. This is a great platform for them.

“Anything can happen and there are so many occasions – especially in the last few years – where players think they are out with it and then they go and train with the first-team, followed by their debuts."

More pre-match comments from Lyons can be found across dcfc.co.uk and also on RamsTV.

WHO IS THE MAN IN THE MIDDLE…

Kevin Friend will be in charge of Saturday afternoon's game.

The Premier League official has overseen 12 games so far this season and produced a total of 27 yellow cards and two red cards.

His last game involving Derby was the FA Cup Third Round tie away to Manchester United in January 2018.

Friend will be assisted by Robert Merchant and Robert Atkin on the lines, whilst Ross Joyce has been appointed as the fourth official.

EXTRA TIME AND PENALTIES…

Should Saturday’s Cup tie finish as a draw after 90 minutes, extra-time and penalties, if required, will be used to determine the winner.

Extra-time, as normal, will be two periods of 15 minutes and penalties, if needed, will take place in the normal ‘ABAB’ format.

SUBSTITUTES RULE…

Following consultation with clubs, the EFL Board has agreed to increase the permitted number of substitutes to five in all Sky Bet EFL fixtures for the remainder of the 2020/21 season.

Regulation 33.4 has been amended to permit:

* Championship Clubs to name up to nine substitutes in their matchday squad, with five permitted to take to the pitch in any fixture.

* League One and League Two Clubs can name up to seven substitutes in their match day squad, again with five permitted to take to the pitch.

This rule also applies for FA Cup ties for the 2020/21 season and, should extra time be permitted, a further substitution can be made.

GOAL LINE TECHNOLOGY…

Goal line technology is not available for this Emirates FA Cup tie.

STAY AT HOME…

Derby County is continuing to urge supporters to stay away from stadiums when matches are played, with the UK Government advice remaining the same relating to playing behind-closed-doors at this time in the 2020/21 season.

Matches are still being played behind-closed-doors with the safety of supporters, club personnel and the frontline services remaining the principle priority at this time.

Consequently, supporters will not be permitted entry to any area of the stadium and extra security measures around the immediate area including car parks will be in place when staging matches.

Supporters are also urged to maintain social distancing guidelines and avoid congregating outside stadiums or gathering to watch matches, as part of a new campaign message: ‘When we play, please stay away’ ahead of all EFL matches.

The club and the Derbyshire Constabulary are united in one message to fans - support the Rams and 'Watch From Home'.
