The team news is in for today's pre-season friendly at Burton Albion.

Derby County's team news for today’s pre-season friendly at npower League 2 outfit Burton Albion has been confirmed to dcfc.co.uk.

The Rams, who got their pre-season campaign underway on Wednesday with a 2-1 reverse at Mansfield Town, will continue their pre-season preparations against Gary Rowett’s Brewers at the Pirelli Stadium.

Trialist Valentin Gjokaj (Swiss defender recently with Lucerne and trialled at Newcastle United) has been given another chance to impress and he is joined by another trialist in the starting XI in the form of left-back Michael Hoganson, formerly with Newcastle United.

Another trialist, James Caton (ex-Bolton Wanderers left-winger), is on the bench.

Striker Steven Davies, who is available for transfer after turning down a new deal earlier in the summer, is again not involved in Nigel Clough’s squad while Gareth Roberts (tight hamstring) and Adam Legzdins (dead leg) are not involved.

Mark O’Brien, who sat out Wednesday’s game at Mansfield after only recently returning to full training after seven months out with a cruciate ligament injury, is on the bench.
