The teams for this afternoon's npower Championship encounter at Pride Park have been announced...
Michael Hoganson is set to make his maiden appearance in the Rams’ starting line-up this afternoon, as Nigel Clough makes one enforced change to the side that lost 2-1 at Hull City in midweek.
With Gareth Roberts beginning his three match suspension today following his red card at the KC Stadium on Tuesday evening, Hoganson is drafted in to complete the Rams’ back-four.
The former Newcastle United defender will start alongside Richard Keogh, Kieron Freeman and John Brayford – who will continue his role as a centre-back in the absence of Jake Buxton and Mark O’Brien.
With Roberts suspended, Derby’s starting line-up does not feature a single player over the age of 26, with the average age of the first XI coming in at 23.3, whilst the average age of the entire matchday squad is 22.8.
Other than the inclusion of Hoganson there are no further changes to the line-up from Tuesday, with O’Brien (knee) unavailable for selection over the coming weeks, James O’Connor (knee), whilst Buxton has only recently overcome the medial knee ligament injury that kept the former Burton Albion man out for two months.
Elsewhere, Conor Sammon and Jamie Ward continue in attack, with the latter in search of his fifth goal in his fifth consecutive npower Championship encounter.
Academy graduate Mason Bennett returns to the matchday squad of 18, after his involvement with the England Under-17s during their tournament in the Algarve.
