Capital One Cup Seedings Confirmed

The first round draw for the 2013-14 Capital One Cup will be announced on the morning of Monday 17 June...

 

Earlier this morning, the Football League revealed the seedings for the first round of the 2013/14 Capital One Cup draw.

First Round ties will be played on the week commencing 5th August 2013, just a few days after the opening match of the 2013-14 league season.

The first round draw is seeded, based on the final league positions of teams from the 2012/13 season, and has been split regionally into north and south groups, with the Rams seeded in the 'north' category. 

Derby County will discover their opponents in the First Round of the competition on Monday 17th June 2013, with details of the draw to be made public at 9:30am here on dcfc.co.uk.

On the opening day of the 2012/13 campaign, the Rams faced then League One side Scunthorpe Rovers in the first round of the competition at Pride Park.

After an enthralling 90 minutes, in which the two side's played out a 5-5 draw, the Rams went on to lose on penalties.

The current holders of the competition are Premier League side Swansea City, who defeated League Two side Bradford City 5-0 at Wembley.

The draw will be quickly followed by the announcement of the full 2013-14 Championship fixture list, which will be confirmed 48 hours later on Wednesday 19th June 2013.
