Defender extends his loan spell with the Bees.

Derby County defender Valentin Gjokaj has extended his loan spell with Skrill Premier side Barnet until the end of the season.

The Albania Under 21 international centre-back originally joined the Bees on a month’s loan back in February and made five appearances during that time.

Ulrich Landvreugd and Dick Schreuder are in charge of all footballing matters at The Hive, Barnet’s new home, and their side currently sits seventh in the table and just outside the playoff places on goal difference.

Gjokaj, 20, made six first-team appearances for Derby last season after joining from Swiss side Luzern.

He has failed to add to that tally this term and has instead featured heavily for the Rams’ Under 21 side.
