Defender lifts award at Derby County's annual End of Season Awards night.

Derby County's annual End of Season Dinner took place at the iPro Stadium on Tuesday evening – with Jake Buxton claiming the Rams’ Club Player of the Year Award.

Central defender Buxton was named as this year's winner at the star-studded event, just over two weeks after being named as the Supporters Club's Player of the Year.

All of Derby County's directors, management and players were in attendance alongside both supporters and sponsors.

Buxton, who has been a key player in Derby’s promotion push, said: “It has been an unbelievable season for myself and the team; I am genuinely shocked to win this award.”

Elsewhere, 19-year-old midfielder Will Hughes collected the Young Player of the Year Award for the second season in a row following another impressive campaign on the pitch, while Johnny Russell lifted the Goal of the Season Award for his effort thunderous against Nottingham Forest.

The Players’ Player of the Year Award went to midfielder Craig Bryson, who was voted by the Derby squad as their top performer during the campaign.

Chris Martin lifted Highest Goalscorer Award after picking up 23 goals so far during the campaign with one game left to play while England youth international forward Kwame Thomas received the Under 21s Player of the Year after an impressive campaign in the Under 21 PDL 2 North.
