Wisdom Thanks Derby For A ‘Brilliant Experience’

Liverpool defender grateful for loan spell with the Rams.

Andre Wisdom has described his loan spell at Derby County during the 2013/14 campaign as a ‘brilliant experience’.
The England Under-21 international defender joined Derby on a season-long loan deal from Premier League Liverpool back in October.
He made 38 successive appearances for Steve McClaren’s side, all of which came at right-back, and was a model of consistency in the Rams’ back-line.
The 21-year-old felt that playing under Derby’s Head Coach helped enhance his game.
His loan stint at the iPro Stadium expired after the Play-Off Final loss to Queens Park Rangers last month, leaving him to admit that he saddened not to end his time with Derby on a high.
Wisdom told dcfc.co.uk:“I have had a brilliant time at Derby County and every minute of it has been a real pleasure.
“The aim was to come out and play games and I have done that for the last seven months.
“Under Steve McClaren I think I have grown as a player and a person and when I report back at Liverpool for pre-season training, I’ll be a better player for the brilliant experience I have had.
“I think I have improved as a result of being at Derby and it is just a shame we didn’t get the promotion we deserved.”
Wisdom has also thanked Derby’s squad and fans for helping to make his time with the Club a memorable one.
He said: “The lads were been brilliant from the minute I arrived.
“It’s not just them though; the staff and fans have shown so much support to me.
“I’ve made some good friends as a result of coming to Derby and I can’t speak highly enough of the place.”
He joked: “I am just gutted I didn’t get a goal; I had a few chances and in such an attacking side but just couldn't score.”
