Young shot-stopper secures one-month loan in order to get valuable match experience

Derby County goalkeeper Ross Etheridge has joined Evo-Stik League Northern Premier First Division South side Leek Town on loan.

The temporary deal will keep Etheridge at Harrison Park for a month.

The 20-year-old shot-stopper, who has been playing in Lee Glover’s Under 21 squad this season, spent the majority of last season on loan at Ilkeston Town where he impressed manager Kevin Wilson.

Etheridge signed professional terms last summer after two years as a scholar and could make his debut in Leek’s FA Trophy trip to Spennymoor Town tomorrow after being given permission to play in the fixture.

The keeper has also had a three-month loan spell between the sticks at Gresley as he continues to gain valuable experience.
