Derby County defender Farrend Rawson has joined fellow Sky Bet Championship side Rotherham United on a youth loan.

The central defender, who is a graduate of Derby’s Academy system, has teamed up with the Millers on a 28-day loan.

He has been a regular in the Rams’ Under 21 side in the Barclays Under 21 Premier League Division 2 this season, but is yet to make his first-team debut.

Rawson was an unused substitute for Derby’s first-team earlier in the season, in the Capital One Cup Second Round victory over Charlton Athletic at the iPro Stadium.

Rotherham are currently 21st in the Championship and sit six points above the relegation zone and Rawson could feature in their game away to Huddersfield Town this afternoon.
