Derby County’s Timi Max Elsnik featured as Slovenia’s Under 19s lost 3-1 to Portugal in their final UEFA European Under 19 Championship Elite Round game on Tuesday.
As a result, Portugal qualified for the Under 19 Championship Finals ahead of Slovenia.
Midfielder Elsnik, who had played and scored in Slovenia’s two previous group match victories against Russia and Sweden, played 82 minutes against Portugal before being replaced.
The youngster will now return to Derby to re-join Rory Delap’s Under 21 squad ahead of their final two games of the season, away to Fulham (4th April) and at home to Arsenal (11th April).
