Derby County Under 23s midfielder Callum Guy has joined Sky Bet League 1 side Port Vale on loan for the rest of the season.

Guy, who is 20, has linked up with the Valiants in order to gain first-team experience.

He has progressed right the way through the ranks of the Rams’ Academy, after joining Derby at the age of nine, and signed professional terms just under two years ago.

A regular for the Under 21s last season as they gained promotion to the top flight, he has also featured heavily for the Under 23s this season in Premier League 2 - Division 1.

Guy played in all three of Derby’s group games in this season’s Checkatrade Trophy against Port Vale, Doncaster Rovers and Mansfield Town, while he was an unused substitute in last weekend's Emirates FA Cup third round win at Premier League West Bromwich Albion.

Port Vale are currently 15th in League 1 and Guy could make his debut in their home game against MK Dons on Saturday.
