Derby County’s Under-23s continued their preparations for the upcoming 2017/18 Premier League 2 season with a convincing 4-0 win over Swindon Town today.

Three players who scored in the 3-0 win over Chivas Guadalajara Academy at the weekend all scored again against the Robins.

After a goalless first half, Emil Riis Jakobsen opened the scoring with a fine 20-yard finish.

Offrande Zanzala then grabbed a brace. His first was from close range after the Swindon goalkeeper had initially saved Luke Thomas’ shot, before he latched on to a precise through ball behind the backline and powered in his second.

Lewis Walker then finished off the scoring with a close-range finish off his own after Zanzala had been denied his hat-trick.

Darren Wassall’s side return to action this Saturday with a trip to face Gloucester City at Whaddon Road, kick-off: 3pm.

Supporters are reminded that all Academy pre-season fixtures based at the Training Centre in partnership with the University of Derby are being played behind closed doors.
