Derby County’s Under-21s booked their spot in the Central League Cup Final with a 4-0 victory at Wigan Athletic on Friday afternoon.

Eno Nto and Lennon Wheeldon’s first half goals put Derby in the driving seat before Darren Robinson and Niall McAndrew found the net in the second period to confirm the win for Jake Buxton’s side.

Forward Nto opened the scoring on the half hour mark with a composed finish from inside the penalty area.

Derby doubled their lead on the stroke of half-time when Wheeldon netted from a few yards out from defender Ben Radcliffe’s header back across goal.

Midfielder Robinson made it three for the Rams early in the second half with a volley from close range.

The scoring was rounded off in the closing minutes when McAndrew curled a fine effort into the bottom corner.

Derby will face Burnley in the Final of the competition in early May and a confirmed match date will be announced in due course.
