Derby County’s Under-18 return to Premier League – North action this afternoon at Brockhall Training Ground as they get set to take on Blackburn Rovers, kick-off 12:30pm.

After a break in the regular league schedule to make way for the Rams’ first taste of Premier League Cup action against Swansea City last weekend, Justin Walker’s and Rory Delap’s side will be looking to return to winning ways after their 2-0 defeat last time out in the league against Manchester United.

In their most recent fixture, though, a 1-1 draw away at Landore Training Ground against the Swans saw the Rams, in Delap’s own words, look more like the team that he has been working with since the start of pre-season.

Eye-catching team play between Jayden Mitchell-Lawson and Jack Stretton saw the latter player find the back of the net early in the first half, however, Kees De Boer levelled things up just before half-time.

In the end, though, after a succession of chances, the Rams were forced to settle for a share of points in an enticing fixture in the newly-formed cup competition.

Next up for the Rams is a trip to Lancashire as Derby look to return to winning ways.

And being third place in the table, Walker’s and Delap’s side look favourites, however, despite losing their last three games, Blackburn are still not a side to be underestimated.

Over the last two years, the Rams have been unable to find a victory at Brockhall and this is something that full-back Jordan Mills says that his side are looking to put right.

Speaking to dcfc.co.uk, the defender said: “It’s going to be a tough test.

“It’s always going to be difficult when you go to Blackburn.

“I don’t think since I’ve been a scholar that we’ve beat Blackburn away so it’s going to be tough test, but hopefully we can get rid of that curse, if you like, away against them.”
