Daniel Farke believes that his Norwich City side are in a ‘dangerous situation’ as they prepare to face Derby County in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday.

The Canaries contested the East Anglian derby with Ipswich Town last Sunday, before a draining 120-minute duel with Premier League side Arsenal in the Carabao Cup last-16 just two days later.

They overcame their main rivals 1-0 at Portman Road thanks to James Maddison's strike, but a double by Gunners' youngster Edward Nketiah saw Farke's side beaten 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium after extra time.

The German, who was appointed in the summer after a spell coaching Borussia Dortmund II, admits that a combination of factors make Saturday’s game one of the toughest that Norwich will face this season.

Speaking to the local media, Farke said: "The load has been incredible this week. Some players played a lot of minutes so we have to think about rotating again.

"We have got a lot of compliments in the past two games. That makes it a dangerous situation because the guys need to focus again.

"Derby have a very experienced squad and are one of the teams fighting for promotion. The game is probably the most difficult before the international break.”

Farke also gave an insight into what he anticipates from Gary Rowett’s side, who go into the game on the back of a five-match unbeaten run in the league.

He added: "I expect Derby will concentrate on defending and counter-actions. We need 100 per cent concentration to get the points. We're looking forward to it and want to win."
