Derby County’s Under-18s face a trip to Clayton Wood this weekend ahead of their 11am clash with Stoke City in Premier League North.

And after returning to winning ways last weekend away from home in a 3-1 win against West Bromwich Albion, the Rams will be keen to make it two wins out of two in Stoke.

Against the Baggies, two strikes inside the first 25 minutes, including one after just 14 seconds, from Adam Davie gave the Rams a comfortable lead.

Early in the second half, West Brom managed to pull one back through Jamie Soule, however, Morgan Whittaker restored the Rams’ two-goal lead in the 81st minute with an impressive half-volley outside the area.

Unbeaten in their last four fixtures, Justin Walker’s and Rory Delap’s side are currently placed in second, behind only Manchester City.

And whilst Derby’s opponents in Stoke currently reside in seventh place, the Potters seemed to have found some form in their last two fixtures beating West Brom 2-0 and hammering Blackburn Rovers last time out 6-0.

Speaking to discuss their aims and objectives for this season, Jordan Mills spoke exclusively to dcfc.co.uk.

The first-year scholar said: “Top four is a big aim for us because in previous seasons, we haven’t really done as good as we wanted to.

“This year is a big year for us because we’ve got the chance of finishing in the league very strongly.

“Everyone is working hard each day and that really is starting to show out on the pitch.”
