Matej Vydra has been called up to the Czech Republic squad for their international friendlies against Iceland and Qatar in November.

Having failed to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, manager Karel Jarolim takes his side to Doha, Qatar, for two friendly fixtures during the next international window.

They will face England’s Euro 2016 conquerors Iceland on Wednesday 8th November, before taking on 2022 World Cup hosts Qatar three days later.

Vydra hasn’t been involved on the international stage since last October’s World Cup qualifiers, and the call up is just reward for a flying start to the season, with the forward already scoring six goals in the Sky Bet Championship, exceeding his final tally of five for the 2016/17 campaign.

Vydra will be looking to make his 20th appearance for his country, whilst also hoping to continue his fine goalscoring form with a 6th international goal.
